day sixty-four, eggs. { project 365 }

Eggs. That is all.

my little friends. { frost on flower }

On Sunday I had the pleasure of seeing Ali and Ben again, this time at their home. It was quite fitting as I first photographed their family two years ago, in their home, for Ali's first birthday. This happened to be for Ben's first birthday (and Ali's third as their birthdays are just weeks apart).

With their ages and their not too conveniently timed naps, I anticipated this session being a little more "lifestyle" than trying to be overly posed. Which works great for little ones. :)

Ali and I made a deal. I had to start by snapping the bottom snap.

Ben showed off his awesome using everything as a walker skills. :)

His outfit is perfect - Ali's 1st birthday photos were a white onesie with legwarmers as well. :)

It's been great to witness the evolution of her smiles. :)

Ali was really excited to have her mama repeatedly look at the raisin in her mouth. :)

And then she wanted some of her own, quite serious photographs, on the couch. I can't help but think corporate headshot when I look at these. Like 30 years down the road she'll have the exact same photos... :P

And then she got goofy. :)

Ben continued to impress me with his awesome climbing skills. But these chairs aren't quite heavy enough for it - he was teetering on the edge of disaster.. but he didn't seem to mind!

day sixty-three, a first. { project 365 }

See that black spec up there on the road? That's a hardcore Minnesota grandma using a walker to make her way up this street.. which happens to be a hill. Covered in 2" of ice and snow. Yeah.

Today was Olive's first day at Willow Preschool. :) She's going to go once a week, on Tuesdays.

I thought: What a great opportunity for today's photo a day photo.. a nice one of Olive, right in front of the house. I didn't have time when we arrived (see ice and snow above.. travel times are dumb) so I had to try afterwards. I was like "hey Olive, today is special, can I take your photo?" and she was all like "no". So I didn't really try.

Until she thought maybe a photo of her throwing snow would be cool. This was after she threw some snow at June's head. Whoops.

And then she was like "hey wouldn't it be funny if I threw snow at your camera?" and then she threw snow at me. And then she was like "throw snow at me! throw snow at me!" and I was like "um no." (I didn't have gloves on and I had already plopped sad June in the car (sad for reasons that didn't include the snow throwing.. I think he enjoyed that).

day sixty-two, lazy day. { project 365 }

June napped a million times today. I hope he sleeps well tonight. During one of his rare waking moments we all hung out on the bed together.

Yep.

Wide eyed baby June.

He's really excitable. I think he's going to be hilarious when he starts to giggle. He's almost there. It's like his giggles are stuck in his throat.. ready to bubble out.

He's also observant.

Can I be jealous of Olive's hair? I am.

day sixty-one, drive by. { project 365 }

I had an unusual amount of options for today's photo. I picked this one that I snapped quickly on my drive home from a session. Despite it not having snowed for quite a few days our streets are still covered in snow and ice. Even main streets. Even little bits of the highways. Thick slipper ice.

But the white covered streets add a certain peaceful element.. when you're not slipping around on them. Big piles of snow, the sun still hanging low to the south. It's March, but it sure doesn't feel like it.

This big RV is a new addition to our block.

There is a photo project I would love to do before the snow is gone. But I can't really figure out how to have the time to do it. Fingers crossed we'll get another big snow and I can get some time out alone with my camera. It's a good idea.

day sixty, intrigue. { project 365 }

I can't find my photo from Friday. I can't even remember what I photographed on Friday. Whoops.

For most of today Olive said things like:
"hey painter!"
"Gilbert, what are you doing, Gilbert?"
"there is paint over here."
"oh, yeah, yeah."

We had our hallway/stairs area painted. It's not a horrible task, we've done so much painting already, but it's gone unpainted for so long.. I just thought I would reach out to anyone who may want to trade photos for painting just to get it done. And so it's done. And this way I didn't have to figure out how to get all the way up high above the stairs. Though the ceiling still needs to be painted...

Anywho.. Gilbert came over and Olive talked and talked and talked and talked.

His sister dropped him off and came inside and Olive was like:
"I have an idea! YOU (pointing to Gilbert's sister) can play with me. And YOU (pointing to Gilbert) can go paint upstairs!"

And then they went upstairs to look around. So Olive grabbed a stool and brought it upstairs and was like:
"Well, painter, there is a little bit of white over here, and some yellow paint here. Oh, and brown paint over here."

And then she gave him a piece of brownie.

scott's birthday.

Oh yeah, Scott had a birthday. And a party. And I forgot to post the photos.

This will be quick, concise. I may have forgotten some details/names. I am tired.

We walked up the sidewalk to Brooke and Scott's house as their other first guests were arriving. We tied.

Brooke made a cake.

Scott made a bazillion pizza crusts.

Look! It's Scott! On his birthday!

Scott was making plans. About how to cook pizza.

Pizza chaos.

Pregnant.

Olive was all like.. "hey... do you have a baby in your tummy?"

These are pizzas.

We gathered 'round to watch the first two pizzas be consumed. It was slightly awkward.

It's nice to go to homes where babies live. There are baby things to do.

Meadow just woke up. I think she was singing Happy Birthday.

Oh hi June.

I think Scott is saying something. This is his saying something face.

Careful candle placement. Nice colors here.

Olive helped.

Anything.. to be next to a cake..

How many hands does it take to put 28 candles on a cake?

The answer is: Four tea lights.

Meadow says: I think you underexposed.

Who knew it would take this long to candle a cake?

I think Blake moved. Where did Blake come from, anyways?

Olive was ready.

Scott seems overwhelmed.

Uh. Oops.

June's face is a cube.

A family.

The end.

Oh, happy birthday, Scott. So glad you could finally join us in being 28. :)
