a fashion bug. { frost on flower }

More of my little friend Ali from our time at Fort Snelling State Park...



These first two looks feature these headbands. They're from the same boutique as the headbands from our last session.



Aren't they amazing?



So far Olive hasn't really been into headbands.. I'm not sure what she would think of one of these!





Ali just has the best hair for them, doesn't she?







This is a rusty door with a dirty doorknob. Who knew?! :P









This little dress has the most wonderful floral pattern on top. Ali was a ball of energy at this point.







I love the way the light highlighted her hair.







And some lovely shorts, too!

little princess. { frost on flower }

On Saturday I met up with a previous client of mine. You may remember, Ali, the little boutique model that I photographed at the Guthrie. She had a few different headbands and outfits this time but this post is devoted to her wonderful princess dress and her very helpful brother who makes a little appearance as her prince.



We met at Fort Snelling... it has that nice old castle look and is smack dab in the middle of the metro area, though it doesn't really look or feel like it.



As Ali prepared her princess character her brother got to know his castle...





It was a great day to be there since it is still closed for the year.. there weren't too many people around and it was easy to explore.



This dress was custom made for Ali to model. It is quite heavy.. she had to lift it and wasn't too keen on walking far.









I like to think he locked himself out of the castle.. :P



Her dress is seriously heavy - she took a few breaks to sit and needed a little help to get up again.





The details on the dress are just perfect. It's really great quality. And we had such a perfect day.



I love these two.

a little lovely at the guthrie. { frost on flower }

As is not uncommon: I have a lot of photos to share with you. :P



This session was scheduled quite last minute. I'm so glad it worked out.



Basically.. they needed a photographer ASAP and I was like "hey... I'll be at the Guthrie tomorrow morning, can you be ready then?" And luckily there they were!



This little lovely with the super amazing hair is a model, understandably so.



In this first set of photos she is modeling a very elaborate headband. I just love the way it works with her hair. I could never pull that off.









I believe these photos were for the boutique that makes the items so I tried to focus a bit more on the headband than on her adorable smile in some of them.





The next headband was equally as elaborate.









After the headbands she changed into a handmade reversible dress with matching headband.





We spent some time goofing around..





... which, I think, worked out perfectly.







And then reversed the dress for an entirely different feel.









We got a lot of great work down in one area of the theater but I wanted to take her and her brother upstairs to see the view and have a little fun.



So we got a few more shots of both sides of the dress.





I can't wait to work with her again - we had a great time during our super speedy session. :)
