This morning I was away when Olive opened her second cubby on her new advent calendar. I had a full day of photographing families. I can't say exactly how she responded but I'm fairly certain she was excited to be going to see a PARADE tonight! :) Her second little magnet was a sheep.
We had plans to have Friendsgiving with Brooke & Scott. We had spent Thanksgiving with them the previous couple of years but we both went home this year so we postponed it until this weekend. Unfortunately I wasn't overly prepared for this and was away photographing from 8:30-2:30 and with the parade set to start at 6:30 there wasn't much time for planning, cooking, eating, and breathing.
Brooke & Scott were gracious enough to offer to cook so we headed over to their house shortly after I arrived home. While we were at their house Olive had to touch everything, including Peanut, and Scott made turkey sausage.
I didn't edit most of these.
I like the reflection of the Christmas lights in Peanut's eyes.
Unfortunately the meal had other plans. In order to make it to the parade on time we had to eat out. None of us really wanted to, especially since we went out yesterday, but we were hungry and had a parade to get to. We ended up at Pizza Luce.
We ate quickly and rushed down the street to find somewhere to stand for the parade.
This morning was probably the most foggy day I have ever seen. Driving downtown for my first photo session I couldn't even see the stoplights from just under one block away. The fog cleared up as I got closer to downtown and was much lighter after both of my sessions were finished but it hung around a little all day. It actually warmed up a little later in the day and I think it caused some more fog to set in.
I took along my 5D again this time used my 50mm lens. I LOVE it on the 5D. I loved it on the 7D but I love it 100x more on the 5D. Due to drop in a Chipotle bathroom in Chicago in 2010 it has some autofocus issues. It actually seems to handle these issues better with the 5D but was pretty terrible and next to useless in the dark at the parade. I did my best to manually focus but that's a struggle in the dark. Some of these are not in focus but... I don't care.
December 2nd. No snow. People wearing sweatshirts instead of huge heavy coats.
The kids dressed as animals riding in cages was little weird/sad. Um, zoos are bad.
That's a T for Tyler.
What happens tomorrow? Certainly something involving less photos.
