I'm really busy right now. Making a million cookies today aided in the busy part. Olive's 19th activity was to help me make cookies! Here are the unedited and yummy photos. :)
Used my most favorite and previously "famous" cookie recipe. It's gluten and sugar full, therefore formerly famous.
This is not a joke.
I assumed Olive would be eating a few of these over the course of the four events we're bringing them to. So I compromised - they're full of sugar so I used organic whole wheat flour. Costco doesn't sell any other organic flours currently.
But Olive just wanted a banana anyway. She's a good human.
Pouring in the 2 cups of sugar.
Plopping in 4 cups of brown sugar, one packed cup at a time.
The butter had to cool. It's cold outside. Why make your freezer or refrigerator work over time?
Olive was really excited about the flour.
She wanted to eat it?
She kept eating it and giggling. Flour. Not the bowl of sugar.
6 teaspoons of vanilla, 4 eggs, and 4 egg yolks. She kept pretending to drink the vanilla.
Mmm. A million cups of sugar.
Being helpful.
I poured the butter in, all 6 sticks, without a single drip. I'm amazing.
Olive is impressively good at pouring things.
A bit of an egg dribble.
But overall, letting her pour the liquids could have been way worse.
Careful :)
Not a very becoming photo of Olive. But I thought I would show my flour adding strategy. No way would either of us be able to pour that bowl in without spilling and a giant puff of flour happening. I added a scoop at a time in an effort to minimize flour dust. It worked!
I pushed it to it's limits. Seriously. Poor thing. That's not egg on the table.. that's a tear.
Excited cookie face?
Gosh.
