I LOVE this type of session - this session was purchased as a baby shower gift by a couple of family members of the mama to be. I absolutely love when people do that because, honestly, professional photography, despite my obvious enjoyment of it, is not always something within reach for my family and I know that's a common story. So many people would just love to have great photos documenting their major life events but it's out of reach. I love when others step in and gift a photo session, especially for something like newborn babies!
Meet Vincent and Victor.
Little brother in the front was quite relaxed and basically asleep for the bulk of the session. Brother in the dark blue however, was not. He was wiggly and was constantly hungry. This made placing both of them in some sort of baby holding container a little more challenging - which is already a challenge with twins..
When we first plopped the blue guy down on this sheepskin he was rubbing is face in it furiously - it must have felt like a cloud! We had to distract him a bit and find a position where he wasn't too distracted. Again his brother just snuggled up and continued to rest.
I spent some time alone with this guy while his brother had a snack. We were hopeful he may relax and sleep so we could get some good brothers together shots.
Oh, baby details. :)
He came back but it was short lived.
The sleepy one and I moved on to a suitcase. This is Olive's suitcase and she is always amused to see it in my photos.
You can't really resist a baby in a suitcase, can you?
More little baby details. :)
Time to give the wiggly guy another go... but he was still wiggly!
You know how twins are often a somehow inherited phenomenon? Well this two little twin boys have grandpa's who are fraternal twins as well. That's right.. both mom and dad's fathers are both twins themselves! So they weren't too surprised to discover they were having twins.
It was neat to hear that they were delivered at St. Joe's - that's where Olive was born and where I just photographed Brooke and Scott having baby Meadow. It's a great place. It was one of very few hospitals this mama could find that would even let her attempt a natural twin birth - isn't that crazy? But that's another topic for another blog. :P
He was still wiggly but not too upset.
We tried to throw brother into the mix and he spent almost the entire time wiggling around and screaming at the back of his brother's head.
He also tried to eat his brother's head before calming down... but he calmed down in a mostly inconvenient position and we were really ready to push his buttons again!
Twin sessions are challenging but double cute. :)
