Last weekend I photographed a wedding in Bloomington. I was probably the most pregnant wedding photographer any of the attendees of the wedding had ever seen. But, just for the record, my friend Scott was on back up for the day. I paid him a little bit to keep the day open, just in case something baby related would prevent me from getting to the wedding. I also gave the couple a little discount because of this unique set up.
Sometimes it's rough to be confined in a hotel room.. but we managed to find a spot to hang the dress. And I managed to edit out a lot of the icky yellow glow from the yellow walls AND carpet. Hotel room decor is rarely quite what I'd like it to be!
Bride and her sisters!
These hangers are everywhere these days! I liked the type on this one!
I headed downstairs to the bar for the first look and found the guys all ready to go.
A cute first look with the wedding party looking on.
This room is why I love photographing weddings at this venue.
I really like the simplicity of their flowers.
I really enjoy how each guy is uniquely dressed - different ties and handkerchiefs and such.
Brothers. :)
This was a wonderfully efficient group. Not too many posed group shots were desired so we just breezed right through everything.
Some of my favorite ring shots thus far. Though I almost always really like the ring shots. But this bright blue box and little stone set up by the waterfall made these just perfect.
We had some time to hang out and relax before the guests started to arrive.
As soon as guests were in sight everyone piled into the elevators and headed upstairs.
After a little relaxing break back in the girl's room it was time to head downstairs for the ceremony.
The sun began to set.. rather quickly. And about one minute before the wedding party began their walk down the aisle someone dimmed the lights significantly. I typically like to head to the ceremony site about 15 minutes early to photograph guests and have my settings prepared for the ceremony. I had to think quickly and make quite a few changes before the first couple walked out!
And back into the elevator to head upstairs for the bustling of the dress.
I didn't bother to take a photo of the group being photographed on the couch... I assumed they would have enough copies of that one. :P
The room was still being reset so everyone was crammed into the bar area entertaining themselves as they waited.
As soon as it was ready everyone rushed in and grabbed some seats. This little lady stole the bride's first dance.
After the bride, groom, and myself, got a little something to eat, it was time for their first dance.
A mother/son and father/daughter dance followed.. with a little special guest meandering his way in the middle.
Congratulations Megan and Ken! It was a pleasure photographing your wedding.. even with my large belly! :)
